Finally got something finished! 1/48 RAF Sabre F.4

To be honest this only needed a few final touches which for some reason I kept putting off. Well after tidying up the workbench I decided it was time to finish some kits rather than start yet another. All this one needed doing to it was painting the bang seat and a few little bits here and there and it was done.

The kit is the 1/48 F-86E Sabre, which has the markings and parts for the RAF Sabre F.4.

The model went together well with no real issues and was a nice relaxing out of the box build. The base is a chopping board with ready mixed filler for the concrete and model railway grass.

I gave the model very light weathering, the first step being in the painting stage with a pre-shade on selected panel lines. Next the colours where varied to add a bit of depth. The model was then gloss coated and decals applied. After that the whole models was given a black oil wash then matte coated. A few little chips in the paint work, mainly on the leading edges with Vallejo Model Air Metallic Black and black pigments were added to the exhaust and the gun muzzles.

One down 20 odd to go!
